It's fall...a time when we bask in the ever-changing colors of the leaves and we give thanks for the simple things. So here is a small list of things the Solstice team is thankful for:
- Thank you, Internet, for being such a powerful performance-enhancing caching mechanism. If you want to learn how to unlock it's power, read Schwan's article 'Use the Power of Internet to Scale Your Web Application'.
- Thank you, Role Based Access Control, and Eric Rosezweig for defining and clarifying the utility of RBAC in his ComputerWorld article, 'RBAC 101'.
- Thank you, Agile Development, for encouraging customer collaboration and reducing the importance of sign-offs on a project. Check out David Babicz' ComputerWorld article, 'The Psychology of the Sign Off' to learn more.
- Thank you, Soft Skills, for allowing us to understand that it's not the 0s and 1s that make technology projects successful, but 'Dialogue between The Project Team and It's Customers'. Nice post, Mrs. Manthey.
- Thank you, Days of Thunder, you weren't that great of a movie, but you sure did give us a good analogy of why 'Infrastructure and Apps Need to Work Together to Win'
Have a wonderful Fall!!
-The Solstice Team
